NEWS CENTER - DEM Party said "No one can infer 'opposition to the process' from DEM Party" and invited everyone to be serious about "the approach to Mr Öcalan who is conducting the process with great sacrifice and determination".

The Press Office of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) made a statement regarding the evaluations in the media about their party and PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan after the meeting in İmralı.

The statement reads "The meeting of the DEM Party Imrali delegation with Mr Abdullah Öcalan created an optimistic atmosphere in the public opinion. Even the possibility of a solution itself created relief in the society and caused hopes to flourish. Our party, which has paid a heavy price for years in the struggle for peace and solution, is not only a political actor of this period, but also a veteran. Therefore, our party is in favour of peace against war, it is the one that produces solutions against insolvency. No one can distort this fact or take it to a different place.

On this occasion, we remind the known circles once again:

* We are aware of those who are persistently and stubbornly trying to justify some of the political evaluations made by our party and political actors by saying 'they are threatening', 'DEM Party is against the process'. However, this will not help anyone. No one can make 'opposition to the process' out of the DEM Party.

* We know very well who is or who are the opposite of the solution. Despite all their constructive approaches and efforts, those who insult our party and its values, those who threaten the people every day are the biggest opposites of the solution and the process.

* We reject the writings of the crony pencil pushers who are compassionate to the Hitler mentality and Goebbels tactics in terms of lies, slander and distortion, who think journalism is an orderly job and play warrior on the screens.

* We invite everyone concerned to be serious about the approach to Mr Öcalan, who is conducting the process with great sacrifice and determination. The aim of those who reduce the process to lies and simple magazines, those who believe the lies fabricated in this regard and persistently circulate them, is to attack the ideological and political identity of Mr Öcalan.

* No one should cunningly calculate how to avoid responsibility by relying on the media power in their hands and with all kinds of perceptions. Our people who demand a solution will definitely not give premium to these cheapness.

* A democratic solution and honourable peace will surely come to these lands. DEM Party will never allow these groups to poison the possibility of a possible solution. Our party will continue to shoulder all the responsibility of this process with a more sensitive approach than ever before.

* Our Party invites all relevant circles to act with the same sensitivity and to abandon the language of threats and blackmail."
