AMED - Speaking after the march organized against the trustee in Amed, DEM Party Provincial co-chair Abbas Şahin drew attention to the solution discussions and said, "The process must be taken seriously".

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) Amed (Diyarbakır) provincial organizations made a statement in front of DEM Party Provincial Organisation building against the trustee appointed to Akdeniz Municipality. Before the statement, the crowd marched from Ceylan Shopping Center to the provincial building with applause and shouts.

'THE PROCESS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY'

DEM Party Amed Provincial Co-Chair Abbas Şahin stated that they are going through a difficult process that requires struggle, self-sacrifice and will. Şahin said, "If a solution is desired, one must first have the will and approach it seriously. There is a political process moving forward. This process needs to be taken seriously by everyone. The Middle East policy based on the denial and annihilation of the Kurdish people has deepened the problems for a hundred years and created dictators. Peoples have been persecuted by their hands for years. In Syria, the Baath regime wanted to leave the Kurdish people without an identity. The result was civil war, death and the end of the dictatorship. Its intolerance towards the Kurdish people and its tyrannical approach towards its own people began to be shaken by the women's liberation struggle."

'PEACE POLICY IS INDISPENSABLE'

Stating that the Kurdish people have not and will not give up on democratic politics and coexistence despite everything, Şahin said that the co-mayors and council members of Akdeniz Municipality were unlawfully detained and the will of the people was usurped. Emphasising that it must be seen that no policy that ignores the Kurdish people will succeed, Şahin said, "For us, the politics of peace is indispensable. Peace requires sacrifice and struggle. These are available in the Kurdish people. The people, who have been tried to be sacrificed to unsolvable policies for a hundred years, will not submit to these policies."
