ADANA- It has been claimed that 32 prisoners in Düzce Prison have been handcuffed behind the back, dragged on the floor, put in a padded cell and put in Palestinian hanging because they refused to stand up through the count.
32 prisoners in Düzce Type T Prisoners have allegedly been subjected to torture because they refused to stand up through the count. Prisoners have called their families to inform them about the torture.
The families of the prisoners have applied to TUAY-DER ( Human Rights Assosiation and Fraternal Assosiation with Convict Families.
‘WE ARE BEING TORTURED FOR FOUR DAYS’
The mother (Azize Gültekin) of a prisoner (Vedat Gültekin) stated that her son who could barely talk on the phone said, “ We are being subjected to torture with our cellmates. They are using Palestinian Hanger. They are dragging us through the corridors to put us in padded cells. This has been going on for four days now. We have 10 friends in one cell, and 22 in the other.”
SICK PRISONER HAVE BEEN SUBJECTED TO TORTURE AS WELL
Güzel Keleş, mother of Selami Keleş, an epileptic patient said, “ The new warden is subjecting prisoners to torture, we have three medical reports. My son is critically ill. We will not leave are children alone.”

Another prisoner, Mehmet Erbey called his family and say; “This torture have been done by the new warden called Kazım, during the torture he told as that we would see the power of the Turk, and he threatened and insulted us. Our bodies are covered with bruises. We are stil under pressure and torture.”
PRISON: WARDENS ARE IN A MEETING
The prison administration we called responded; “ These are allegations. They don’t reflect the reality. Our prison wardens are in a meeting now, we cannot put through any authorized personal on the phone now.”
