ŞIRNAK- Three years gone by since 24 year old Hacı Lokman Birlik's dead body dragged in the streets tied to an armoured vehicle. There still is no inquisitorial progress.

 

Hacı Lokman Birlik's dead body, who was shot dead with 28 bullets during curfew period in Şırnak was dragged in the streets on October 3 ,2015.

 

Ministry of Interior have started an investigation after the indigent incident.

 

It soon turned out that the police suspects of the case who announced ostracized from profession ,were moved other police precincts.

 

The family lawyers have made a denunciation on the account of "intend to kill" , "misconduct and malpractice" and "Defamation of the dead" about the state employees who killed Hacı Lokman Birlik when he was wounded and dragged his dead body in the streets.

But Şırnak Prosecution office started the investigation solely on defamation of the dead.

 

The police who beared testimony pleaded not guilty even though they were there the day of the incident, and claimed they did not remember who shared the photos.

 

RADIO RECORDS ARE IN THE FILE

 

The police radio records of the day of the incident were added to investigation file. The records shows that the act of dragging the body of Hacı Lokman Birlik was organised: 

 

Radio A: Take a picture if you can.

Radio B: Shall we hook him up sir?

Radio A: Ok. He must be tied to the hook right now, drag him out of there.

Radio B: Is there a police team possessing a portable hook?

Radio A: I have a rope to drag him. I'll drag him out.

Radio B: Ok, we'll go up front, you hook him up.

Radio C: Where should we take this bastard to?

Radio D: Take him to the police station.

Radio E: The team dragging him, don’t get taped, take him out back, close down the road. Take him inside.

 

5 PROSECUTERS IN 3 YEARS

 

5 prosecutors were changed during the investigation in 3 years. Mehmet Birlik, brother of Hacı Lokman Birlik stated that the message "I am so strong that i can prohibit your language, your culture, your way of life. I even can oppress your dead body" were given to their community.

 

Birlik said: "I have no expectations about this case, there never have been a unburdening outcome in cases like these in Turkiye.”

 

BY NOT FORGETTING ABOUT THEM...

 

Birlik added: " We need to form a conscientious justice. We can do it by not forgetting about them, not forgetting about their memories.. This life, is the one they had to leave unfinished. We live their unfinished lives. We have to remember this every breathe we take. No verdict can ease our pain."
