Another support statement came from İzmir to Democratic Society Congress(DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari parliamentarian Leyla Güven who started a hunger strike in order to avoid the segregation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Citizens expressing that Leyla Güven's demand is a justified request, said her demands must be met immediately.

 

Perihan Kortak who reminded that there is a significant oppression on the political prisoners, indicated that political prisoners are making hunger strikes for years. Kortak saluting Leyla Güven and all the political prisoners, said: "Us mothers, have never been at ease.The prisoners that are on their death bed are brought to hospitals in handcuffs. No conscience is ok with that. Kurdish people doesn't deserve this.Leyla Güven represents these people. The hunger strike she started is not for one person. She is an elected representative and sure our people will support her. Her demands must be met."
