İSTANBUL- Political Party Representatives who stated that they support Güven’s hunger strike, said: “ A dialog carried out on the right basis will contribute to the Kurdish problem and will be a great step towards solution” and demanded that Leyla Güven’s cry out must be responded.

DTK Co-Chair and HDP Parliamentarian Leyla Güven who started a hunger strike to protest the segregation against Öcalan is in the 24th day of her hunger strike. Green Party Co-spokesperson Naci Sönmez, Socialist Re-foundation Party (SYKP) Co-chair Cavit Uğur and SYKP former Co-chair Ahmet Kaya evaluated Güven’s huger strike and said it must be supported.

SÖNMEZ: Güven’s cry out must be responded

Green Party Co-spokesperson Naci Sönmez who stated that he is a spokesperson of a party valuing the right to life, said: “I advocate a policy that gives more reference to life than death. But in this country, people are forced to lay their bodies to death in order to make themselves  heard. I am deeply saddened by it both as a human and politically. I believe people laying their bodies to hunger only occurs in countries like the one we live in. So I don't want to be a supporter of a hunger strike, but I think everyone should respond to this scream as soon as possible. I invite at least the authorities, the state, the government, the political arena to respond to the cry of Leyla Güven and to respond positively.”
