İSTANBUL- Premiere of the theater play ' Hep sonradan' containing sections of the life of Ahmet Kaya on exile met with its audience in İstanbul. The performance Kardeş Türküler accompanied recieved big applause.

 

The theater play premiere containing sections of Ahmet Kaya's life and works, met with the viewers in UNİC Hall in İstanbul. Hundreds of people filled the hall including People's Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Pervin Buldan, HDP İstanbul District Co-chair Esengül Demir and Ahmet Kaya's wife Gülten Kaya.

 

The play started with the moment Ahmet Kaya's childhood friend Salih meeting with his children after 20 years. Salih had been a prisoner before and because he was on a hunger strike in prison he has Wernicke Korsakof disease. Salih, who forgets some moments in his life from time to time, made notes of his memories with his children to keep remembering them. Salih who was a friend of Ahmet Kaya as a children and when they were exiled, shared those memories with his children. To the memories of Ahmet Kaya writing his songs in exile, Kardeş Türküler accompanies.

 

'WE NEED TO FACE WITH THE FACTS OF THIS COUNTRY'

 

Gülten Kaya who took the stage after the play said: "We have watched and listened to some stories most of us experienced in history consciosly or otherwise. We are stumbling as a country because we were not able to make those things real. We have to face with all the facts of this country like exile, prisons,hunger strikes, losses, unidentified murders.. Those are the facts of the country we live in."

 

The play received a standing ovation for minutes after it ended.
