MERSİN - The police who called the families of the prisoners who are on hunger strike and invite them to the police station, said:"We'll send you to prison with your children, we'll cut your pensions."

The mothers of the hunger striking prisoners in Mersin are being called in the police station. Kadiye Oğuz, mother of Aydın Oğuz who is on hunger strike for 92 days in Giresun Type E Closed Prison, was called in to the station last tuesday. Oğuz who stated that they are being subjected to the insults of the police since they started the sit in, said they just can't sit home waiting their children to die while they are on hunger strike and they want to give them some voice."

'THOSE POLICE OFFICERS ARE MY SON'S AGE'

Oğuz said: "Whatever we do, they say its a crime. Going to the park, organizing sit ins..We don't know what to do. All we want is to find a solution for the demand of our children. We don't want them to die. There is no law here, there is no justice. When we organize demonstrations, they insult us. Those police who insult me are my son's age. It's a shame!"

POLICE: wE'LL SEND YOU IN PRISON WITH YOUR CHILDREN

Oğuz who stated that the police asked them if they don't know it is forbidden to organize demonstrations and who instructed them to go there, said: "No one tells us to go there. We go there by ourselves on our own will. I can't just sit at home doing nothing. I am there for all our children not just for mine alone." Oğuz said the police responded her by saying 'We'll send you in prison to your child'.

THE THREAT TO CUT PENSIONS

Fatma Kaygan, mother of Mahmut Kaygan who is on hunger strike for 78 days in Tarsus Type T Closed Prison, said: "They have to hurt like we do in order for them to understand us." Kaygan stated that the police threatened her and said: "Your children are deceiving you. You are being decieved. We'll cut your pension!"

Kaygan stated that she responded to the police, and said: "Neither us nor our children are being decieved. I will go to those demonstrations, you can cut my pension if you want. We just want the demand of our children to be met. Show us where to go to solve this and we'll go there."
