TIME FOR NEW POLICIES

In a statement, the associations said that the result of the elections should be careful examined by all political actors and lessons should be taken to avoid and prevent hate speech.

The statement added that the abandonment of this paradigm based on tension and the establishment instead of a new language embracing all different segments of society and the construction of new policies would lead to a new understanding.

"At this point, the need for a peaceful new policy on the Kurdish issue has inevitably emerged. - said the statement - There has been considerable experience and accumulation in the process of non-conflict and negotiation, which is called 'resolution process' and lasted between 2013 and 2015. We agree that this process was not well managed, but we also agree with the criticism that this process was not adequately evaluated. It is time for a solution. ”

The statement demanded the immediate release of journalists, civil society representatives, academics, politicians, and all other those imprisoned following investigations and prosecutions for their ideas. The importance of respect freedom of expression was reiterated and it was asked to drop pending investigations and cases against them.

The Bar Associations said that with a democratic and egalitarian new constitution it would be possible to solve the problems of Turkey including the Kurdish Question and added that a new constitution is needed to guarantee people and democracy.
