Yoleri: International line of struggle must be established for migrants

ISTANBUL - Indicating that Syrian refugees are being used as a threat among states, IHD Istanbul Branch President Gulseren Yoleri has suggested to human rights defenders to establish "a common line of struggle" against this situation.
 
With the decision of the state authorities to deport unregistered Syrian refugees, hate speech targeting immigrants became widespread. IHD Istanbul Branch President Gulseren Yoleri stating that Syrian refugees are being used as a threat between states and Turkey is using immigrants as a leverage for their cross border operations, said: "We have to develop a stance against this discourse and these policies making the immigrants a leverage. To limit this problem  with Turkey is wrong. In this process, the struggle against this situation must definitely gain an international dimension. Human rights defenders, everyone who argues that these policies are wrong, must form a line to fight against their own states and mechanisms in the international arena.
 
Yoleri stating that Turkey keeps a large number of Syrians in their borders because they see the Kurdish as a threat, said: "The system created in Rojava is an example to the whole world.It showed that there could be a more democratic form of government and a more humane system for human rights. It was an alternative to the collapsing system today. The effectiveness of the Kurds in the struggle against ISIS is known. It is never acceptable to use Syrians as political bargaining to prevent Kurds' gains. What should be done against this is extremely important. We have to insist that without discrimination, refugees living in Turkey must benefit from all the rights. We havr to say it out loud that the government must provide these fundamental rights. We have to delevop a stance against these discourses and policies. To limit this problem  with Turkey is wrong. In this process, the struggle against this situation must definitely gain an international dimension. Human rights defenders, everyone who argues that these policies are wrong, must form a line to fight against their own states and mechanisms in the international arena.  The UN is violating their own contracts. There is also a neglect of the responsibilities imposed by international law."
