The HDP delegation who met with Marija Pejcinovic Buric including PACE Left Union Group Vice President and HDP Foreign Affairs deputy co-chair Hişyar Özsoy, PACE equality commission vice president Feleknas Uca, HDP Council of Europe Representative Faik Yağızay.

 

During the meeting the HDP delegation talked about the situation of the dismissed co-mayors of Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin who were replaced by trustees. Likewise the delegation reminded the Secretary General of the situation of the two HDP former co-chairs who are still in prison. 

 

During the meeting the need for the solution of the Kurdish problem was also discussed  emphasizing the key role would be the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's. 

 

The HDP delegation also talked about the repression going on in Turkey and the situation of the tens of thousands of political prisoners in Turkey and reminded the Council of Europe of its responsibilities.

 

The HDP delegation met with the secretary-general and general director of the European Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, one of the most influential bodies of the Council of Europe's expert body on local governments.
