DİYARBAKIR - According to the information obtained, 13 days before the arrest of Kocaköy Municipality Co- Mayor Roja Nazlıer, the prosecutor requested 7 years and 6 months to 15 years of prison sentence as a result of 2 open and 1 anonymous witnesses.
The investigation about Diyarbakır's Kocaköy District Municipality Co-Mayor Rojda Nazlıer who was taken into custody on October 20 with a raid to her home is completed. An indictment prepared about Nazlıer with a request of 7 years and 6 months to 15 years of prison sentence. There are 2 open witness statements and an anonymous witness statement in the indictment accepted by Diyarbakır 11th High Criminal Court.
The fact that Nazlıer attended the Newroz celebrations, that she attended the wake of Zülküf Gezen who took his own life during the hunger strikes and that she attended the program in front of Diyarbakır HDP Provincial Organization regarding the election results were considered to be crimes in the indictment.
In the indictment, it was evaluated that Nazlıer had committed the crime of 'being a member of an organization' considering the activities and protests she attended to and 7 years 6 months to 15 years of prison sentence was requested.
The Diyarbakır 11th High Criminal Court, which accepted the indictment, gave a date to 27 January 2020 for the first hearing.
