ANKARA - Prosecution announcing its opinion on Ankara Jitem case, requested acquittal of the defendants.
The final hearing of the case known as 'Ankara Jitem Case' opened regarding the 19 people who were forced into dissappearance and executed between 1993 and 1996 was held in Ankara 1st High Criminal Court.
The prosecutor announced their opinion on the case, which was prepared before and was ready at the hearing. The prosecution, who had read the previous statements of the defendants, claimed that Ayhan Çarkın did not express any evidence to substantiate the material reality and that no definite determination had been made. The prosecution requested the separation of Mahmut Yıldırım's file on the basis of the events and the acquittal of the other defendants on the grounds that there was not enough evidence to convict him.
The attorneys of the relatives of the people had been forced into disappearance reacted to the presence of the prosecution's opinion on the computer beforehand and said: "This has revealed the organic relationship between the court and the prosecution."
