ISTANBUL - Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven, who participated in the activities of the upcoming great congress of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul Provincial Organization, said that the Kurds will not accept to live without a status as she emphasized that all the problems were caused by the deadlock of the Kurdish question.

‘TIME TO STAND STRONG’

Speaking first, HDP Istanbul Provincial Co-chair Erdal Avcı drew attention to the importance of the Great Ordinary Congress, stating that the Kurdish people have started this century in a stronger and more organized manner. Avci stated: "In order to be effective in the politics of Turkey, our congress should be embraced with a strong attendance.  It is the time to show the correct and the strong stand.”

'INTERNATIONAL CONSPIRACY IS INVALIDATED’

Speaking afterwards, Leyla Güven, the Co-Chair of DTK and parliamentary member of HDP drew attention to the migrations to the metropolitan cities due to the war conducted in Kürdistan, stated, “You had to migrate to metropolitan cities, but you have never compromised your values. Thank you for this. We are going through an important and critical process. On February 15, 1999, a conspiracy took place against Mr. Öcalan. Many states of the world have participated this conspiracy to break the will of the Kurdish people. However, the resistance developed by the organization and pioneers of the Kurdish people did not allow this darkness to expand. Mr. Öcalan invalidated this conspiracy. For 22 years Öcalan has been resisting in İmralı alone. Isolation continues in all dungeons. It was Nelson Mandella, who was exposed to most isolation in the world, by 18 years. On the other hand, Mr. Öcalan has been exposed to isolation in prison for 22 years.  They say that the Kurds shall not come together. Therefore, they tried to sabotae all kinds of unity attempts. They tried to prevent the spread of the ideas of Mr. Öcalan. Therefore, we went on a hunger strike, but there were people who questioned if there was no other solution. We have many municipalities and deputies. But we were exposed to intense attacks targeting to break our work.  They have arrested our members of parliament as well as our municipal co-chairs. They tried everything to prevent our work. That's why we have to get to know the people against us really well.”

‘NO SOLUTION FROM AKP AND CHP SHOULD BE EXPECTED'

Noting that the Kurdish people should not expect solutions from parties such as AKP and CHP, Güven said, “AKP and CHP will do nothing. We can create our own solution only ourselves. We have torn off the fate they have put before us. Under the leadership of Rojava, the Kurds has become the hope for the whole world. When we evaluate the course of events in Middle East, peoples no longer accept this system. Kurds are also the pioneers of this resistance. Kurds have been rising for 50 years. They did not surrender the massacres and assimilations. What comes out of from the dungeons of Diyarbakır to the Cizre basements to the last dungeon resistances, is that Kurds are not going to obey.”

'ALL PROBLEMS ARE INTERRELATED’

Pointing to the inadequacy of the results that emerged despite the resistances, Güven continued as follows: “Why are we in this position, we have to think about this. Istanbul is Amed, Siirt, Batman, Hakkari. Millions of people have been living here. Our movement should say it out loud with a strong voice that all the problems in the country are interrelated with the Kurdish question. We must be explaining this well. Despite all that happened, our moral and strength remains strong. We take our morale from the philosophy of Mr. Öcalan's. There is a deep crisis in the Middle East. Everyone talks, but none of them has a project. The only one who comes up with a project is Mr. Öcalan. ”

Emphasizing that the Kurdish people will no longer accept a life without status, Güven said, “The end of the AKP will be by the hands of the Kurds. Your end is near. We will increase the resistance and we will win.”

Güven commented on the importance of the great congress as a final remark and called for strong participation for all the associations.
