MERSİN - It was revealed in the report prepared about the violations of rights at Aksaray Type T Closed Prison that the piron director threatened the prisoners, saying 'I am the prime minister and the president of this place.'

 

11 prisoners transferred to Aksaray Tyoe T Closed Prison from Tarsus No 1 Type T Closed Prison conveyed the violations of rights and torture they suffered via their families. Lawyers for Freedom Association (ÖHD), Humans' Rights Association (İHD) and attorneys of Mersin Branches and Çukurova Solidarity Association with the Families of Convicts and Prisoners (TUAYDER) visited the prisoners and reported the allegations of right violations. 

 

In the report it was stated that the prisoners are subjected to the threats and insults of the prison guards, prisoners reported: "The prison's 1st director and a group of guards which we think is a special team are insulting and threatening us. They force us physically to stand during counts and they try to bend our heads in front of the director. The director does not recognizes the law and he always tells us 'You are terrorists, I won't negotiate with you, I won't come to terms with you. Its gonna be how I like it to be. I am the prime minister and the president of this place.' 

 

 

It is stated in the report that the prison is still under construction, the detained prisoners are left in the dust and mud for the first 4 days, and that cleaning materials are not given, it was also stated that those who object to these circumstances are threatened with disciplinary penalties.
