İSTANBUL - Aygül Bilgi, mother of Helin Bölek, stating that the forced feeding they tried on Helin Bölek and İbrahim Gökçek who are on death fast is voilating the Turkish Civil Code, said what they did is psychological torture.

Grup Yorum members Helin Bölek and İbrahim Gökçek were discharged from Ümraniye Education and Research Hospital they were taken to yesterday. Both were taken into custody during a raid on their home, where they came back after being discharged. Aygül Bilgi explained what happened during the forced hospitalization of Bölek.

Noting that scores of police officers came to the house on the night of the raid, Bilgi said everyone in the house were handcuffed behind their backs, including herself. Bilgi, stated that she had to go to many hospitals before she learned that her daughter was taken to Ümraniye Hospital by force, said this decision of Ministry of Health, violates the Civil Code of Turkey.

Bilgi, stating that her daughter wasn't admitted to Intensive Care Unit, said she was kept in isolation with a nurse she did not know in the room watching her every move. Bilgi said: "This was psychological torture. They banned the visiting hours. They kept on going in and out of the room. Police was checking on us everytime I went in the room for 5 minutes. They told me that it was for 'security reasons'. They were harassing us constantly. They walked in the room every time she was about to fall asleep and asked her if she accepted treatment. It was all psychological torture. They did not let us leave. Think about it. The court says we can leave, the hospital says we can leave. But the police prevented us from leaving. With what authority I don't know."

Bilgi, stating that they were finally back to the Resistance House, said: "We were held hostage there for 6 days. We were taking good care of them. Everything had its time. Their sleep, vitamins..it was disrupted. They might have caught a virus there. They applied all kinds of torture to them and us. But we did not give up. We expect the same from our people."
