İZMİR - HDP Izmir Deputy Serpil Kemalbay reacted to the appointments of trustees and said: "We will not accept these policies corresponding to hostility towards the Kurdish."

A trustee was appointed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the municipalities of Batman, Diyarbakır's Silvan, Lice, Eğil and Ergani, Bitlis's Göroymak, Iğdır's Halfeli and Siirt's Gökçebağ municipalities. Party (HDP) Izmir Deputy Serpil Kemalbay reacted to the appointments of trustees, and said that AKP is appointing trustees to HDP municipalities to prevent HDP from taking precautions against the coronavirus in the districts.

Kemalbay stating that they are witnessing the AKP government not being transparent and stating that as HDP they have called on to the AKP- MHP block to cooperate fighting the coronavirus, said: "We saw that trustees were appointed to our municipalities instead of fighting against coronavirus together."

'THIS IS THE RESULT OF THE HOSTILITY AGAINST THE KURDS'

Stating that HDP municipalities are fighting against the virus, Kemalbay said: "Trustees were appointed to our municipalities while we were introducing our efforts against the virus, while we were telling we will prioritize the public health with our municipal health centers. We see that thegovernment is considering their own survival rather than prioritizing the health of the people. To prevent the municipalities from serving the people in a time like this, to criminalize those municipalities can only be explained by their hostility against the Kurdish."

'GOVERNMENT IS PROTECTING THE CAPITAL, NOT THE PEOPLE'

Noting that the government wants to criminalize the people's demands for peace and democracy by liquidating the HDP for a long time, Kemalbay said: "It is astonishing that the government continue their appointments of trustees during the coronavirus epidemic period." Kemalbay stated that one of the most important reasons underlying the appointment of trustees is the difference HDP has created in socialist municipalism.

Kemalbay stated that they would not accept these policies that correspond to hostility towards the Kurdish, said: "Everyone whould raise their voice against the appointment of trustees. Local governments working against the coronavirus are tried to be usurped by taking the mayors hostage and appointing trustees to replace them. Against this, there is a need to defend both popular will and public health."
