Co-Mayor Özaydın released due to coronavirus suspicion

MARDİN –  It was learned that the dismissed Mayor of Mazıdağı Municipality Nalan Özaydın was released from prison after being quarantined with the suspicion of coronavirus. Özaydın will be brought to her home after being removed from quarantine.

Peoples' Democratic Party's Mazıdağı Co-Mayor Nalan Özaydın who was dismissed from office and replaced by a trustee, was arrested and sent to Narsus Type T Closed Prison. It was learned that Özaydın was taken to Mardin State Hospital for suspicion of coronavirus (Covid-19). According to the information obtained, Özaydın was released following the application of her lawyers due to coronavirus suspicion.
 
The court released Özaydın, stating that sending her back to prison would be a great risk for other prisoners if she tested positive for Covid -19.
 
Özaydın was released with the condition of house confinement.
