ANKARA- The speech of AKP Chair and President Tayyip Erdoğan on the use of Turkish at the Opening Ceremony of the Year of Our Yunus Year, was exactly the same as Binali Yıldırım's speech in 2017.
It was revealed that the same speech Erdoğan made on the use of Turkish at the 'Opening Ceremony of
the Year of Our Yunus' was delivered by AKP İzmir Deputy Binali Yıldırım in 2017.
In the video that a social media user noticed and brought to attention with a video on Twitter, Erdoğan gave the same speech on February 16, 2021 with Binali Yıldırım on the same occasion. The speech Yıldırım gave 4 years ago is as follows: “The language of social media turns into a written language, our youth find sufficient enough in daily use, a language of communication. Meaningless
abbreviations, foreign words scattered into sentences, broken sentences, nonsense expressions become
commonplace day by day. We have to stop this decay, which sterilizes our language, destroys the
communication between generations and resembles an eggy peggy rather than Turkish."
