ANKARA - PACE Audit Commission Co-rapporteurs John Howell and Boriss Cilevics held talks in Turkey.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Audit Committee Co-rapporteurs John Howell and Boriss Cilevics met with the Chairman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Investigation Commission and AKP Bursa MP Hakan Çavuşoğlu.

Co-rapporteur John Howell gave information about the duties of the PACE Audit Commission. Noting that they were in Turkey to discuss the violation process since the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) decision regarding Osman Kavala was not implemented, Howell said, "Our aim is not to take sides, but to gather more information by meeting with as many parties as possible."

Çavuşoğlu said, “The commission's requests for meetings are valuable in terms of explaining its ideas, thoughts and actions.” Çavuşoğlu stated that they wanted to exchange ideas in detail with the reporters of the PACE Audit Committee.

The meeting continued closed to the press.

PACE members will come together with PACE member deputies, including other political party deputies, at a dinner meeting.
