URFA - Continuing the sit-in in front of the Urfa Courthouse, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “As long as the AKP protects its MP, it will lose votes. They do not have faces to appear in public in Urfa."

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 616. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Pirsûs (Suruç) province of Riha, on June 14, 2018.

Speaking in front of the courthouse where they started with his mother and stating that the sit-in was approaching its second year, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "Since justice was not provided for our case, those who committed the massacre in the hospital in Suruç massacred two people in front of their homes, again in Suruç."

Stating that many MPs within the AKP called them and conveyed their discomfort about the current situation to them, Şenyaşar said: “They say that they are with us conscientiously. So, who is protecting the MP who carried out and organised this massacre? As long as AKP protects this MP, it will lose votes. They do not have faces to appear in public in Urfa."

'EVERYONE WILL NEED JUSTICE ONE DAY'

Drawing attention to the stage the cases have reached, Şenyaşar said: “For 4 years, prosecutors in Şanlıurfa have not been able to ask anyone to account for the two ambulances that have been rendered unusable, however, the banner on which our demand for justice was written was confiscated dozens of times on the grounds that it touched the public wall. There is a clear lawlessness and injustice in the middle. I come to the courthouse every day with my mother. Our banner hangs behind us. Our demand is justice. We continue to say that this demand for justice will be needed by everyone one day. We will continue our sit-in in front of the courthouse until justice is served within the limits of the law.”
