Semra Güzel stripped of her status as MP!

ANKARA - HDP MP Semra Güzel was stripped of her status as a member of the parliament following the voting held in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
 
Following the Constitution and Justice Joint Committee's report on the dismissal of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) imprisoned Member of Parliament (MP) Semra Güzel because she did not participate in legislative activities, a vote was held in the General Assembly of the Parliament to strip Güzel of her status as an MP.
 
THE VOTING WAS PROTESTED
 
During the voting, HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar were present at the General Assembly, while HDP Deputies carried placards with the words "Semra Güzel is the people's deputy" and "Semra Güzel is the will of the people". Deputies protested the voting with slogans.
 
GÜZEL WAS STRIPPED OF HER STATUS AS AN MP
 
After the voting that took place after the speeches in the parliament, Güzel was stripped of her status as an MP.
 
A total of 371 votes were cast, with 330 affirmative votes and 42 negative votes. AKP, MHP, IYI Party and Republican People's Party (CHP) groups voted to for Güzel to be stripped of her status as an MP. All MPs in the HDP group voted nay.
 
AKP Parliamentary Speaker Süreyya Sadi Bilgiç who read the report against Güzel  was still in his position when CHP İstanbul MP Enis Berberoğlu, HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven, HDP Diyarbakır MP Musa Farisoğulları were stripped of their status as members of the parliament.
