ANKARA - HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay, who voiced her demand for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers in front of the Parliament, called on the Ministry of Justice to "Take a step".

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs marched from the Parliament Dikmen Gate to the Ministry of Justice, demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers. HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay, MPs Feleknas Uca, Necdet İpekyüz, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Muazzez Orhan, Abdullah Koç and Kemal Peköz marched from the Parliament Dikmen Gate to the Ministry of Justice. HDP MPs, who were blocked at the parliament gate by the Ankara Police, made a statement here.

GÜNAY: INJUSTICE IS INSISTANCE IN ISOLATION

Stating that they are on sit-in in front of the Ministry of Justice against the Imrali isolation, but said that they were prevented by the Ankara Police, HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay said: “This is exactly the isolation we object to. The reason for being blocked is to want to remind the main responsible person of the Ministry of Justice, where the will of the MPs and the will of the people are blocked at the door of the parliament. We are faced with a picture of the reality of Turkey, where there is no justice and the will of the people is blocked. Blocking the will of the people, perpetuating injustice is the insistence on isolation policies.”

MINISTRY OF JUSTICE SHOULD TAKE STEPS

Günay said: "The request is very clear and simple. It is the enforcement of law. Today, as Turkey's 3rd largest party, we are marching to the Ministry of Justice for the implementation of the law and unfortunately we were blocked at the Dikmen Gate of the Parliament. This obstacle is an obstacle to the will of the people, an obstacle to the establishment of the law, an obstacle to the implementation of the Constitution. We repeat our call from here once again, do not insist on unlawfulness and injustice, take a step as soon as possible to make the visit of family and lawyers in Imrali. We will continue the struggle and the sit-in until we get results.”
