NEWS CENTER- Hundreds of  Êzidi and Arab women gathered in Shengal and held a mass march as part of March 8.
 
Hundreds of Êzidi and Arab women held a mass march in Shengal as part of the March 8 International Women's Day actions and events under the leadership of TAJÊ.
 
Speaking in the statement made after the march, TAJÊ Coordination Member Riham Hijo said: “We have been oppressed and subjected to persecution for 5 years. In history, Êzidi are known for the resistance developed by women. There is a belief in the Êzidi belief in women's resistance. Dozens of Êzidi women led this society with great heroism.”
 
Speaking on behalf of young women, Sara Botan congratulated March 8 and said: “As Êzidi
women, we welcome March 8 with great anger. We promise to avenge thousands of women who were kidnapped and captured by gangs.”
