MARDİN - İbrahim Aşkan, who was transferred from Şakran to Tekirdağ Prison, stated that he was subjected to a stripped search and that even a bed sheet was not provided in the cell he was put in.

İbrahim Aşkan (24), who was arrested at the age of 16 in 2015 in the Kerboran (Dargeçit) district of Merdin and held in Şakran Type T Closed Prison, was sent to Tekirdağ No. 2 F Type Closed Prison on April 2. In a phone call with his family, Aşkan stated that he was subjected to a stripped search and battered in the prison where he was transferred.

Aşkan's older brother, Zeki Aşkan said: "My brother was battered because he refused to accept a stripped search, and then he was put in a cell alone. My brother was exposed to threats.  A bed sheet was not even given after they were put in the cell. The cell was very dirty and the toilet was inaccessible, and that psychological pressure was applied to him. They did not accept his petitions, so he cannot convey his demands anywhere. He reported that he was threatened every day by the guards with sentences such as "you won't be able to get out of here". Even during the phone call, his phone was cut off 4 times. When he talked about the violations he was subjected to, the phone stopped. We will understand that the situation is not good”.

Noting that they were worried about his brother's situation, Aşkan said that they wanted human rights defenders to investigate the issue in prison.
