Prison demand for Kurdish politician Selma Irmak

DİYARBAKIR - Former HDP MP Selma Irmak, who criticized AKP President Erdogan for destroying cemeteries and dragging bodies behind panzers, was sentenced to "insulting the state" and "insulting the president".

In the ongoing case at the Diyarbakır 1st Criminal Court of First Instance with the allegation of "insulting the President" and "openly humiliating the government" twice, the prosecution gave an opinion with a request for punishment.
 
PRISON SENTENCE FOR UP TO 8 YEARS
 
The prosecution demanded that Irmak be sentenced to prison terms ranging from 6 months to 2 years twice, for "publicly humiliating the Government of the Republic of Turkey".
 
The prosecution asked for Irmak to be imprisoned for a total of 2 to 8 years.
