Aggravated life sentence for the perpetrator who murdered Dilara Yıldız

ISTANBUL - Oktay Dönmez, a bomb disposal expert in the TAF, who murdered lawyer Dilara Yıldız in Tuzla, was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and 20 years in prison.
 
The 4th hearing of the trial of Oktay Dönmez, who worked as a bomb disposal expert in the TAF, who murdered lawyer Dilara Yıldız on January 10, 2022 in Tuzla district of Istanbul, after he detained her in a cafe, was held yesterday at Anadolu Courthouse 16th High Criminal Court. While Yıldız's lawyers were present at the hearing, many of her colleagues and representatives of women's organizations also took part. The perpetrator Oktay Dönmez also attended the hearing.
 
'LIFE IMPRISONMENT'
 
Yildiz's mother, Elvan Akyel, who was promised after the identification, said: "He had no affection for my child. He destroyed my child, I want him to be punished for life.”
 
Then, the perpetrator Dönmez, who took the floor, denied the accusations in his defense.
 
After announcing its decision, the court board sentenced the perpetrator Dönmez to aggravated life sentence for "premeditated murder", 9 years for "attempting to loot", 6 years for "deprivation of liberty with a gun", 1 year and 6 months for "violation of the immunity of residence". Atakan Günay was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months for "threatening with a gun" and 1 year for "opposing the law no.6136".
 
Perpetrator Dönmez was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and 20 years in prison.
