MÊRDÎN/WAN - Prisoner Hasan Kılıç, who is on a hunger strike against the isolation imposed on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, did not make a defense at the hearing of the case filed against him.

The 7th hearing of the case filed against İsa Nas, Mehmet Tokay and Hasan Kılıç on the allegation of "being member in a terrorist organization" due to an explosion that occurred in Qoser (Kızıltepe) district in 2016, was held yesterday at Mardin 3rd High Criminal Court. Mehmet Tokay attended the hearing from Amed and Hasan Kılıç from Ereğli High Security Closed Prison via Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS). While lawyers Azad Yıldırım and Erdal Kuzu were also present at the hearing, the prosecutor presented his opinion to the court after the identification and asked for prison sentences for 3 people.

Then, Hasan Kılıç, one of the prisoners whose defense was requested, drew attention to the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is held in İmralı Type F High Security Prison, and the hunger strike actions initiated to lift the isolation and ensure Öcalan's physical freedom. Kılıç said: "I demand that the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Öcalan be ended and that he should be allowed to meet with his family and lawyers. We started a hunger strike against the isolation imposed on Leader Öcalan. I condemn the isolation and demand that it should be lifted. I will not defend myself in this sense, I will not defend myself."

The hearing then continued with the defense of the lawyers, and the court postponed the next hearing on March 14.
