AGIRÎ - A lawsuit was filed against journalist Abdullah Kaya, who reported on a village guard trying to vote with a gun in Giyadîn district.

A lawsuit was filed against journalist Abdullah Kaya, who reported on the guard who entered the school with his long-barreled gun and tried to vote in the May 14, 2023 elections in Agirî's Giyadîn (Diyadin) district. Kaya is accused of "unlawfully obtaining or disseminating personal data". Diyadin Criminal Court of First Instance accepted the indictment.

In the indictment, it was stated that Kaya took photographs of village guard C.Y. without his consent and served them to agencies and individuals. In the indictment, which alleges that Kaya is not a journalist, it is stated that "Due to the examination of the suspect's mobile phone, it was determined that he had taken the photograph of the complainant and sent it to three people registered in his contact list. Since it was understood that the suspect's statements did not reflect the truth and that he was trying to evade the accusation, his statements were not taken into account, and that he had spread the personal data of the complainant. "to be punished for crimes that comply with the actions of the defendant who committed the crime..." expressions were included.

The first hearing of the case filed against Kaya will be held on September 18.
