ISTANBUL- Fatma Kırbayır, the sister of Cemil Kırbayır, who disappeared in custody during the September 12 Military Coup, died before learning the fate of her brother.

Fatma Kırbayır, the sister of Cemil Kırbayır, who was detained from his house in Okçu village of Ardahan's Göle district during the military coup on September 13, 1980 and was never heard from again, lost her life. Kırbayır, who was also one of the Saturday Mothers/People, had been struggling for justice for years, demanding the fate of her brother to be learned and the perpetrators to be tried, just like the mother Berfo Kırbayır, who passed away at the age of 105.

'SHE LEAVED US WITHOUT HEARING ANY NEWS FROM CEMIL'

After Kırbayır's death, Saturday Mothers, in their condolence message published on their virtual media account, said: "Fatma Kırbayır, the sister of Cemil Kırbayır, one of our September 12 casualties, and our friend in struggle, passed away without receiving any news from Cemil, just like our mother Berfo. Our pain is great."

Kırbayır will be buried in Okçu Village in Ardahan's Göle district, after the noon prayer at İçerenköy Gökyiğit Mosque tomorrow.
