ANKARA- DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated that they made new plans in the context of struggle partnership at the ongoing Central Executive Committee meeting.
Spokesperson of the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Ayşegül Doğan held a press conference at the party's headquarters regarding the ongoing Central Executive Committee (MYK) meeting.
Doğan started with Narin Güran, whose body was found 19 days after her disappearance. Doğan said that the names of those who were massacred, periods and governments have changed, but the current situation has not changed. Doğan said: “One day it is Roboski, one day Ceylan, one day Cemile, one day Uğur, one day Leyla... But for some reason, these child deaths, the way they were murdered, the judiciary and the search for justice afterwards, those who cover it up and those who struggle against it... These are the ones who do not change. Those who want to cover it up and those who fight against it... In that case, Narin's murder cannot be considered as a murder alone. Unfortunately, there is a photograph of a decay that is being revealed.”
REFLECTIONS OF WAR
Stating that what is happening is a reflection of the war, Doğan said: “We talked about decay, yes there is decay. It is the war that causes decay. There is a war in this country. It is not possible to deal with anything that happens in this country apart from the reality of this war. Neither the deaths of women nor children, abuse cases, harassment or rape. As a society, we are experiencing the direct effects of war.”
'WHAT IS BEING HIDDEN?'
Referring to the allegations that there were weapons hidden underground in the village where Narin was murdered and that they were unearthed, “What was in Tavşantepe? What is being hidden? What is the truth behind this murder? What is being hidden from the public? We can say that it has been referred to the judiciary and we can already foresee the answers that may come. This is a judicial matter, we cannot talk about it. We know well how judicial matters are discussed. We know from the Kobanê case. We do not know what kind of instructions are given to the judiciary” she said.
Doğan said the following about the discussions in question: “It is claimed that there are bullets. You must be wondering about this. We ask on behalf of you; What bullets? What is wanted to be done in Tavşantepe? Whose backyard is Tavşantepe intended to be turned into? These are questions that the authorities of the block in power today must explain. These are not allegations that can be covered up and forgotten.
No one should even think of taking the stage again with such small calculations, with plans and games that we know and have seen from the past, that we are familiar with painful costs. Because in the face of this, there is a strong political party and a tradition represented by it that fights for freedom, equality, democracy, coexistence and justice. Those who want to gain political rent from us should first look back at their past, what are they known for? They are remembered for pig ties and the murder of Konca Kuriş. We need to remind them of these”
PARTNERSHIP IN STRUGGLE
Doğan shared that new plans were being made in the context of a partnership of struggle. Referring to the discussions on the “Democracy Alliance” on the agenda of the MYK, Doğan said: “Yes, we are constantly discussing the most important agenda of Turkey, which is to increase the number of coming together, to bring the struggling groups together and to bring them together. We are trying to plan and continue our work on this without interruption.”
