NEWS CENTER - 4 Rojhilat activists held in Edirne Repatriation Center are face the risk deported to Iran. The families of the 4 activists and journalists called for public sensitivity.
4 people from Rojhilat, who participated in the Jîna Emînî serhıdan in Rojhilat and wanted to go to Europe through Turkey because of the lawsuit filed against them, are wanted to be extradited to Iran. Activists Hüseyin Minbarî, Şewgar Muhammadî and journalists Reşad Muhammadî, Fahîme Hüseynî face the risk of being deported to Iran.
'THEY FLED FROM REPRESSION'
The married couple, Rashad Muhammadi and Fahîme Hosseini, have been subjected to pressure and violence due to their programs and news reports during the protests. The couple's family emphasized that their children fled the repression and risked execution if extradited to Iran. “They are now in serious danger because they reflect the realities of Iranian society. Any extradition to Iran would have irreparable consequences. International human rights institutions and organizations that defend freedom of expression must take urgent action to prevent the extradition of these two journalists to the Islamic Republic of Iran and guarantee their protection” they said.
'PUBLIC OPINION MUST BE CREATED'
Rojhilat activists Hüseyin Minbari and Şewgar Muhammadî were subjected to intense repression after the Jin, jiyan, azadî protests. Their families said that the children wanted to go to Europe because of the pressure but were arrested in Turkey. The families expressed that they are waiting for public support to prevent their children from being handed over to Iran.
