ANKARA - President of the European Congress of Local Authorities Marc Cools, Co-Rapporteur Bryony Rudkin and the accompanying delegation visited the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Headquarters.
The delegation consisting of DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları, Democratic Local Authorities Board Co-Speaker Canan Kebenç Özkan, Bitlis MP Hüseyin Olan and Foreign Relations Commission Member Evren Çevik, talked about the party's work in local governments, the pressures on local governments and the trustee policies. The European Local Authorities Delegation, on the other hand, presented comprehensive information on autonomy practices.
Regional developments were also discussed and the importance of democratisation was emphasised.
