13 pioneer women killed in Turkish attacks

NEWS CENTRE - As Turkey's attacks on North and East Syria continue, 13 women leading the community have been massacred since 2018.

Kamar El-Soud, Aisha Abdulkadir and Iman, members of Zenubiya Women's Community, were massacred in the attacks of Turkey and its affiliated SNA against Manbij on 10 December. In a statement on the massacre, Zenubiya Women's Community called on the world public opinion, stating that Turkey is targeting and massacring women who lead and organise the society in North and East Syria.
 
ANHA compiled a list of the women massacred in the attacks carried out by Turkey and its paramilitary groups against North and East Syria since 2018.
 
2018: The body of Barîn Kobanê, who was slaughtered during the attacks on Afrin, was raped and tortured by Turkey's paramilitary structures and shared on virtual media accounts. Reaction to these acts came from all over the world, especially from women's organisations in North and East Syria.
 
2019: Hevrîn Xelef, Secretary General of the Future of Syria Party, was killed in an airstrike on his way to Raqqa.
 
2020: Congress Star Euphrates Regional Coordination Member Zehra Berkel, Hebûn Mele Xelîl and their host Emine Weysi were massacred in Hilincê village of Kobanê.
 
2022: Anti-Terror Forces Commander Jiyan Tolhildan and YPJ fighters Roj Xabûr and Barîn Botan were massacred.
 
2023: Qamişlo City Council Co-Chair Yusra Îlyas and Vice-Chair Leyman Şiwêş were massacred.
 
2024: Zenubiya Women's Community members Kamar El-Soud, Aisha Abdulkadir and Iman were massacred.
 
On the other hand, many civilians and women were also killed in Turkey's attacks.
