AGIRÎ - A mass visit was made to the condolence for journalist Nazım Daştan, who was killed by a drone attacks while covering the attacks on North and East Syria.
Free Press journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin, who were following the developments in North and East Syria, where Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) continued to attack, were killed by an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) attack on 19 December on the road between Tishreen Dam and Sirîn town.
A condolence service organized for journalist Daştan at the mourning house in Giyadîn (Diyadin) district of Agirî, where his family lives, but the police called the owner of the mourning house to testify and prevented the service from being held there. Thereupon, the family started to receive condolences in the garden of their house. Since yesterday, both DEM Party Giyadîn District Organization and Fatih neighbourhood where Daştan family resides have been under police blockade. Despite the police repression and blockade, visits to the condolence continue.
MASS VISIT
Today, a visit was made under the leadership of the Association for Assistance and Solidarity with the Families of the Disappeared in the Cradle of Civilisations (MEBYA-DER) Democratic Regions Party (DBP), Peoples Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Agirî (Ağrı), Îdir (Iğdır) and Qers (Kars) provincial and district executives, Free Women Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) activists, Bazîd (Doğubeyazıt) and Îdir municipality co-mayors as well as hundreds of people attended the visit.
