NEWS CENTER - Nargis Mohammadi, who is held in Evin Prison, stated in her message that it is a moral, political and human rights-based responsibility to fight against death penalty.
Nargis Mohammadi, a political prisoner held in Evin Prison in Iran, published a message against the regime's death penalties against women and human rights defenders. Nargis Mohammadi stated that the Iranian state wants to create "terror" in the society as well as suppress the voices of protesters by imposing death penalty. "The fight against the death penalty is a moral, political and human rights-based responsibility," said Nargis Mohammadi.
Underlining that the unity of those who are against the death penalty will alway be effective, Nargis Mohammadi sadi, "The step taken against the death penalty can have a special quality in terms of creating unity among democratic forces."
NOBEL PRIZE
Nargis Mohammadi, who was charged with "propaganda against the state" for fighting against the compulsory headscarf rule, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2023.
