AMED - DEM Party Amed Provincial Organisation aims to explain the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" to the people house by house in Amed. They planning to meet at least 1 million 145 thousand people.
After the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" made by Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 27 February through the İmralı Delegation, The Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party held public meetings.
In this context, DEM Party is now working for the socialisation of the call by going house to house. DEM Party Amed (Diyarbakır) Provincial Organisation launced the campaing "We are meeting with our people to build a democratic society" on 22 April in order to explain the developments they call the process of change and transformation to the people and to ensure organisation. The campaing aims to meet with 1 million 145 thousand people in the city.
275 THOUSAND HOUSEHOLDS TO BE VISITED
DEM Party Provincial Co-chair Abbas Sahin stated that the support following the 27 February call of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is a reflection of the longing for peace. Stating that the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" includes the necessity of establishing a democratic society and ensuring its legal status, Sahin said that they have started an organisation mobilisation within the scope of the call. Underlining that they aim to rebuild society with democratic values, Şahin stated that within the scope of the campaign they will visit 275 thousand households in Amed and aim to have face-to-face meetings with 1 million 145 thousand people. He stated that during these meetings they will both explain the process and emphasise how a democratic society should be formed and how important the process of change and transformation is.
Stating that they will not only go to their own masses with this work, but will knock on the doors of all segments of the society, Sahin said that this work will also be carried out in Kurdistan and Turkey. Sahin stated that they have formed hundreds of commissions and thousands of people will take part in these activities. Stating that they will carry out family visits together, Sahin said, "We are making the beginning of building the future together by adapting this process to the legal and political process with the call of Mr Abdullah Öcalan for the peoples of Turkey to live in peace."
'FREE WORKING CONDITIONS MUST BE ENSURED'
Stating that the change-transformation process should be approached seriously, Sahin said that the conditions for Abdullah Öcalan to work freely should be created. Underlining that spreading the process over time in the Middle East and Turkey may bring serious problems, Sahin noted that legal arrangements should be taken urgently.
'WE WILL EXPLAIN THE PROCESS TO WOMEN'
Reminding that Abdullah Öcalan's call was embraced with great enthusiasm in many areas from 8 March to Newroz, DEM Party Provincial Co-chair Gulsen Ozer stated that the process gave hope to the people. Gulsen Ozer said that they have started and organisation move in order to reveal the meaning and importance of this process more and said, "Especially as women, we will carry out this process by going house to house, neighbourhood to neighbourhood, touching people one-to-one and listening to their problems."
Gulsen Ozer underlined that it would not be possible for the process to succeed without Abdullah Öcalan's physical freedom and stressed: "This process must be put on a legal basis."
