NEWS CENTRE - Making a statement on the attacks of Turkey and affiliated paramilitary groups, TEV-DEM says genocide is attempted against the peoples of the region.

The Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) made a statement on the attacks of Turkey and affiliated paramilitary groups on North & East Syria and Aleppo. In the statement drawing attention to war and crimes against humanity, it was emphasised that the peoples of the region are being subjected to genocide. The attacks and massacres of paramilitary groups against prisoners are genocide underlined in the statement and stated: "These developments did not happen spontaneously, the Turkish fascist regime is behind these attacks. 'THE TURKISH STATE IS A THREAT TO THE PEOPLES OF THE REGION'

In the statement, it was stated that the attacks were the same as the attacks against Afrin and targeted the Autonomous Administration of North & East Syria. Pointing out that Afrin migrants living in Shahba were targeted, the statement said: "By inflicting a new migration tragedy on our people, it once again revealed the brutality of terrorism." It was noted that the attacks are a threat to the peace and tranquility of the peoples of the region.

Reminding that YPG, YPJ and QSD fighters won a great victory against ISIS by giving thousands of martyrs, the statement continued as follows: "This people is a people who resist against all conditions. We call on human rights organisations to monitor the situation of prisoners in the hands of gangs, especially to ensure the freedom of women prisoners. In the spirit of thousands of martyrs, let us organise and strengthen our organisation in the midst of the chaos in the Middle East, and let us frustrate the calculations on the basis of the brotherhood of peoples."
