RIHA - Journalist Cihan Bilgin stated that Tishreen Dam and Qeraqozak region are under SDF control, adding that Turkey is trying to "occupy" the region under the pretext of Suleyman Shah Tomb.
Turkey and the Syrian National Army (SNA) continue their attacks and threats against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Journalist Cihan Bilgin, who closely follows the developments in the Tishreen Dam and Qereqozak region near Kobanê, where the attacks and resistance have intensified recently, stated that Turkey's attacks on North and East Syria continue uninterruptedly.
'POLICIES OF HOSTILITY'
Reminding that after the defeat of ISIS in Deir ez-Zor in 2019, Turkey continued its attacks by diversifying its war methods, Cihan Bilgin said: "After the defeat of ISIS, they tried all kinds of war methods. Their efforts to mobilise sleeper cells are still continuing. We have witnessed such attempts many times in Hol Camp and in the Deir ez-Zor region. In addition, they want to carry out a policy of enmity between Kurds and Arabs through tribes. However, despite all these attacks, the resistance of the people frustrated these policies."

'THEY WANT TO FORCE MIGRATION'
Stating that Turkey aims to force the people to migrate especially in Manbij and its surroundings with the threat of massacre, Bilgin noted that Tishreen Dam was bombed and the region was left without electricity. Cihan Bilgin stated that these ways were aimed at breaking the resistance of the people of the region and said: "In order to break the resistance of the people, both the infrastructure was targeted and they spread the lie that these places were captured with black propaganda. However, despite these attacks, neither the people migrated nor the Autonomous Administration stepped back. Til Rifaat and Shahba councils decided to leave the region for the safety of the people. The civilian population was safely resettled in the Autonomous Administration ares. The people here meet their needs with the solidarity of the Autonomous Administration and the people themselves, without the support of international organizations."
'REGION UNDER SDF CONTROL'
Stressed that Turkey's efforts to seize the Qereqozak region continue, "A big war is being waged in the region. The gangs supported by Turkey are organising attacks against SDF, YPJ and local council forces. However, the gangs cannot make any progress. On the contrary, in addition to those who surrendered during the clashes, there are those who left their bodies behind and fled. The reality here contradicts the propaganda spread by Turkey in the media. These lands are still under the control of the SDF. There are attacks on the Tishreen Dam and the Qereqozak region. With these attacks, they aim to destroy the Autonomous Administration. These are only a part of the systematic attacks launched after the defeat of ISIS," she said.
'INVASION ATTEMPT UNDER THE PRETEXT OF TOMB'
Referring to the discussions on the relocation of the Tomb of Suleiman Shah, Cihan Bilgin said: "This is part of Turkey's attempts to take over the region. Turkey wants to deploy heavy weapons and troops to the region using the tomb as an excuse. This is clearly an invasion attempt. However, the Autonomous Administration rejects all attempts of occupation. ISIS was defeated in these lands in 2014. Just as the resistance of the people repelled the attacks then, the same struggle continues today. Turkey is trying to break the resistance of the people through black propaganda and mobilising ISIS cells. However, this people protect their streets and identity."
'SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE ATTACKS'
Reminding that the peoples of North and East Syria defeated the darkness of ISIS, Cihan Bilgin called on the international community and continued as follows: "The peoples of the region defeated the darkness of ISIS with a great struggle. But now Turkey wants to bring the same darkness to these lands again. The peoples of the world must speak out against these attacks as they did against ISIS. Recognising the status of the Autonomous Administration model is a vital necessity in the construction of the new Syria."
